Canada was not represented at the following Pan-American Championships held in 2009.

Pan-American Team Championship 2009

The 2009 Pan-American Team Championship was held August 8-13 in Mendes, Brazil. Teams of 4 players each, from 6 countries, competed in a round-robin. The winner was Brazil with 15.5/20.

21st Pan-American Youth Championships 2009

The 2009 Pan-American Youth Championships were held August 15-22 in Mar del Plata, Argentina. The event was founded in 1989. All sections were 9 rounds.

Under 18
37 players, won by FM Jorge Cori Tello of Peru with 7.5 (+6 =3) on tie-break over FM Renato Terry of Peru (+7 =1 -1).

Under 16
40 players, won by Victor Shen of the USA with 7.5 (+6 =3).

Under 14
44 players, won by Daniel Rozovsky of the USA on tie-break over Oscar Enrique Zavarce of Venezuela, both with 7.5 (+7 =1 -1).

Under 12
47 players, won by Diego Cuellar of Peru with 7 (+6 =2 -1) on tie-break over (2nd) Arthur Shen of the USA (+7 -2) and (3rd) CM Joshua Ruiz of Columbia (+6 =2 -1).

Under 10
33 players, won by Pablo Ismael Acosta of Argentina with 8 (+7 =2).

Under 8
22 players, won by Tanuj Vasudeva of the USA with 9/9!

Girls Under 18
15 players, won by WFM Ingrid Aliaga Fernandez of Peru with 8 (+7 =2).

Girls Under 16
21 players, won by Ayelen Martinez of Argentina with 7.5 (+7 =1 -1).

Girls Under 14
27 players, won by Melissa Castrillon Gomez of Columbia with 7.5 (+6 =3).

Girls Under 12
26 players, won by Paula Paredes Bustamante of Peru with 8 (+8 -1).

Girls Under 10
24 players, won by WFM Simone Liao of the USA with 7.5 (+7 =1 -1).

Girls Under 8
20 players, won by Annie Wang of the USA on tie-break over Mitzy Mishel Caballero Quijano of Peru, both with 7.5 (+7 =1 -1).

Pan-American Women's Championship 2009

The 2009 Pan-American Women's Championship was held September 1-7 in Cali, Columbia. The winner of the 43 player tournament was IM Martha Fierro Baquero (+5 =4) of Ecuador on tie-break over WIM Cori Deysi (+6 =2 -1) of Peru, both with 7/9.

Pan-American Under-20 Championship 2009

The 2009 Pan-American Junior Championship was held October 6-12 in Montevideo, Uruguay. The winner of the 34 player tournament, with 8/9 (+7 =2), was IM Ray Robson of the USA. Robson's result was his third and final Norm for the Grandmaster title.

Pan-American Girls Under-20 Championship 2009

The 2009 Pan-American Girls Junior Championship was held October 6-12 in Montevideo, Uruguay. The winner of the 11 player round-robin tournament, with 7/10 (+5 =4 -1), was WFM Stephanie Amed of Argentina.
